Not supported: Stories and Highlights, private accounts, direct messages, and anything else Instagram only shows to signed-in users. GramFetch never asks for your Instagram password, so it can only see what a logged-out visitor can see. See how to save Stories you own.
How it works
- In the Instagram app, tap Share (paper plane) or the ⋯ menu on a post or Reel and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
- Paste the link into the box above and press Download.
- GramFetch looks up the same public post data a logged-out visitor would see and lists every photo and video in the post, with a preview.
- Tap Download under the file you want, or Download All as ZIP for carousels.
Files are streamed from Instagram's servers to your browser; GramFetch does not keep copies. Read the Privacy Policy for what is logged.
Shortcut: type gramfetch.com/ in front of an Instagram link in your address bar — for example gramfetch.com/https://www.instagram.com/reel/ABC123/ — and the link is filled in for you.
If a download doesn't work
- “We could not fetch this post”
- The account is probably private, the post was deleted or archived, or it is age-restricted. Open the link in a private browser window — if Instagram asks you to log in to see it, GramFetch cannot access it either.
- The link is rejected as invalid
- Copy the link to the post itself (Share → Copy link). It should contain /p/, /reel/, or /tv/. Profile links and Story links (/stories/) are not supported.
- It worked a minute ago and now fails
- Instagram sometimes slows down repeated requests. Wait a minute and try again. Media links also expire after a while, so extract the post again rather than reusing an old download link.
- Nothing happens when I tap Download on iPhone
- Safari saves files to the Files app → Downloads. Open the file there and choose Save Video or Save Image to add it to Photos. If Safari asks whether to allow the download, tap Allow.
- The video has no sound
- Some Reels use licensed music that Instagram does not serve publicly in every region. GramFetch saves the file Instagram provides and cannot restore removed audio.

A public post is still owned by the person who made it. Saving something to watch later is very different from re-uploading it, selling it, or using it in an ad. Ask the creator before reusing their work, credit them when you share with permission, and report anything that infringes your own copyright to Instagram. Frequently Asked Questions
What can I download with GramFetch?
Public Instagram Reels, feed videos, IGTV videos, single photos, and carousel posts (every slide, or all of them as one ZIP file). Videos save as MP4 and photos as JPG.
Can I download Instagram Stories or Highlights?
No. Instagram only shows Stories and Highlights to signed-in users, and GramFetch never asks for your Instagram login. If you want to keep your own Stories, use the Save option or Story Archive inside the Instagram app.
Do I need an Instagram account or to log in?
No. You only paste a link. GramFetch never asks for your Instagram username or password — if any downloader asks for them, do not enter them.
Why did my download fail?
The most common reasons are: the account is private, the post was deleted or archived, the link points to a Story or a profile instead of a post, or Instagram is temporarily limiting requests. Check that the link contains /p/, /reel/, or /tv/ and try again after a minute.
Does GramFetch add a watermark?
No. GramFetch saves the media file Instagram serves for that post without adding any logo. If the creator burned a watermark or text into the video itself, it will still be there.
What quality will I get?
The highest-resolution version Instagram serves publicly for that post. Resolution varies from post to post depending on the original upload, and GramFetch cannot make a file sharper than the source.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. GramFetch runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser, so there is no app to install. On iPhone, Safari saves files to the Files app (Downloads folder); from there you can choose Save Video or Save Image to add them to Photos.
Is GramFetch free? Are there download limits?
Yes, it is free and we do not set a daily download limit. The site is supported by advertising. Instagram itself may slow down very frequent requests, in which case wait a minute and retry.
Do you keep copies of what I download?
No. Media files are streamed from Instagram to your browser and are not saved on our servers. Basic technical logs are kept for security, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Is it legal to download Instagram content?
Saving content for personal, offline viewing is common, but the photos and videos remain the property of their creators. Do not repost, sell, or reuse someone else’s content without permission. Our guide on Instagram downloading and copyright explains the details.
